The Aerial Lamp by Jake Dyson Uses Heat Tube Technology to Stay Cool
Meghan Young — July 15, 2014 — Art & Design
The Aerial Lamp, a long-lasting LED lighting option, could revolutionize the way people think of such fixtures for years to come. It utilizes special heat pipe technology initially developed for use in satellites and most recently incorporated into the designer's CSYS range in order to keep the LED bulbs cooler. Thus, as written on the website, "The life-span of Ariel will surpass any existing LED suspension light." The LEDs can last as long as 13 years of continuous use. That's impressive.
Designed by Jake Dyson, the long-lasting LED lighting option also includes cutting edge optics to provide an even, targeted illumination for the space it is suspended in. Sleek, simple and contemporary, it ensures minimal ceiling disruptive with maximum illumination. It is great for offices and public spaces.
