Gourmet coffee chain Pronto recently came up with the ingenious idea to serve chocolate croissants filled with Kit Kat bars rather than simple chocolate to create an upscale pastry dessert for both children and adults to enjoy. The desserts are available exclusively in Japan.
This is a creative take on the traditional pain au chocolat by using chocolate bars as the sweet milky centre. Pronto is serving its croissants with the Kit Kat chocolate wafers embedded deep inside the flakey buttery pastry. The concept is a great way to add a new layer of flavor and texture to the popular French dessert by including a wafer chocolate that already comes in a variety of sweet flavors. The desserts come in three different flavors including a chocolate, matcha and even sweet potato.
