Cars and Bodies is a Curious Series About Life in a Metropolis
Rebecca Byers — February 18, 2015 — Art & Design
Cars and Bodies is a provocative photo series and video installation by a trio of international artists. The series is a product of collaboration between photographer Yann Rabanier, architect Thomas Cestia and filmmaker Romain Dussaulx, who decided to delve into the idea of territory and its place in an ever-crowded overpopulated society.
Shot in Los Angeles and Bordeaux, the series features tens of bodies crammed into cars in semi-desolate surroundings that creates a paradoxical feeling in the viewer, as well as an accompanying teaser video.
Cars and Bodies is an alternate look at the traffic many face on a daily basis due to their proximity to major metropolitan centers and highlights the lack of perceived territory, as well as the view of these centers as "human traffic jams."
