The vast majority of furniture designs call to mind a specific time and even place when it comes to aesthetics or style which can make an otherwise functional piece appear dated, so the 'Stubby' chair is expertly designed to change this.
The chair is the design work of Nissa Kinzhalina and features a block of sturdy hardwood that is surrounded by a metal pipe frame. This makes the seat functional, stylish and suited for years of continued use thanks to its very bare bones aesthetic that isn't limited by certain design cues in order to make it more suited for long-term use.
Explaining the 'Stubby' chair further, Kinzhalina said, "Do not be attached to the place and time. Do not endow the item with any particular style because of its deposit and burden it with the historical era in which the item was created."
