British Pavilion Adorns the Geology of Britannic Repair in Beads

Curators from both the UK and Kenya have joined forces to take over the British Pavilion as a part of the Venice Architecture Biennale with the Geology of Britannic Repair design. The installations are an artful connection rooting architecture with the earth. The Geology of Britannic Repair pavilion explores themes that stem from colonialism, and this was commissioned by the British Council
The pavilion was curated by a team comprised of Owen Hopkins, Kathryn Yusoff, Karanja and Stella Mutegi. Hopkins speaks about the design project to Dezeen, "The contention at the heart of the exhibition is that architecture is an earth practice. The exhibition aims to unlock what architecture and colonialism have long marginalised, activating the British Pavilion as a site for reimagining the relationship between architecture and the earth."
