Poinsettias are most notably known as the iconic Christmas plant and this homemade holiday punch recipe by Williams-Sonoma is inspired by the popular flower. While the flower is in fact poisonous, the cocktail simply takes inspiration of the plant's bold crimson colors to make a delicious fruit drink.
This punch recipe creatively puts together a scarlet colored drink that might remind drinkers of the poinsettia plant with ingredients such as cranberries and champagne. The cocktail calls for a base made from cranberry and orange juice further mixed with champagne, vodka and Cointreau. Fresh fruit is added to give the punch color and texture, including cranberries and sliced oranges. The punch is also light enough to be served for lunch or a brunch meal as well as dinner or a cocktail hour.
