October 2017 architecture trends reveal an enhanced focus on designs that not only have a reduced impact on the environment, but that completely adopt eco friendly practices.

One such example includes 'Air Houses,' which are made up of suspended structures that "represent the possibilities of architecture working with nature, instead of against it." The suspended structures are compatible with both hot and cold climates, and allow vegetation to grow on their surface.

Another example is the resort concept (currently in initial stages) designed by the firm Vincent Callebaut Architectures. It is set to be "one of the most technologically advanced eco resorts," and will feature functions like rotating buildings that follow the sun to optimize the building's ability to harness solar energy.
