Caam Arquitectos Opens the Suuel Hotel as a Beach Escape

— September 8, 2025 — Art & Design
CAAM Arquitectos introduces the Suuel Hotel as an architectural response to Puerto Escondido’s beach culture, offering a human-scaled retreat that feels organically rooted in its surroundings. Nestled among nim trees, the hotel centers on a sand garden that leads into the Pacífica Radio dining space, which transforms into a pétanque court or a sound room during Vinyl Fetish Sessions. The intimate, three-level structure preserves a sense of quiet immersion while maintaining openness to the coastal environment.

The nine guest rooms prioritize comfort, each with private plunge pools, jungle-facing terraces, and generous spaces for work or relaxation. Passive strategies, including cross ventilation, cooling wind tunnels, and light-curtain boundaries, minimize mechanical systems while enhancing sensory experience. Through its integration of natural elements and thoughtful scale, the Suuel Hotel demonstrates how contemporary hospitality can balance environmental care with understated architectural presence.
