Office for Roundtable and JXY Studio create multifunctional greenhouse office in Guangzhou, combining workspace, living room, and plant sanctuary into a single adaptable structure. Located within an urban garden, the pavilion uses a lightweight steel frame and translucent polycarbonate panels to blur the line between indoors and outdoors. Adjustable elements allow the enclosure to shift from enclosed workspace to open social area, creating flexibility for both professional and personal use. The result feels organic, practical, and deeply connected to its environment.
The design incorporates rainwater collection on the roof, reused for irrigation and cooking within the space. Modular shelving, folding furniture, and integrated planting beds make it both efficient and restorative. By merging ecology and architecture, the project proposes a model for sustainable living and working that values adaptability, simplicity, and direct engagement with nature.
