Practical Tri-Folding Bicycle Designs

DAHON has Introduced the LUNDEN GR at Eurobike 2026

DAHON's LUNDEN GR, which made its debut at Eurobike 2026, is a 20-inch tri-folding bicycle engineered to address the typical trade-offs between compact portability and full-size riding performance that have long plagued the folding bike category. In order to achieve this, the design of the product incorporates the company’s proprietary DAHON-V Tech, which reinforces the connection from the headtube to the bottom bracket, adds strengthened seatstays, and uses forged dropouts to create a more rigid structure. The result is a tri-folding bicycle that can handle not only smooth city streets but also light gravel and mixed terrain.

An adjustable D2D stem allows the handlepost height and angle to be fine-tuned for individual body proportions, while the Internal V-Quick Lock and dual-locking grips keep the riding position secure without wobble or flex. For shock absorption, the LUNDEN GR features a dynamic suspension system that riders can adjust on the go to suit changing road conditions.

Tri-folding Portability-performance Hybrid
A compact tri-fold that preserves near-full-size ride characteristics opens opportunities for products that redefine last-mile transport by combining storage convenience with multi-terrain capability.
Reinforced Frame Technologies
Materials and joint engineering like DAHON-V Tech suggest a shift toward lightweight yet highly rigid frames that can enable smaller bicycles to match the durability and handling of larger counterparts.
Adaptive Ergonomic Adjustability
Adjustable stems, dual-lock grips, and tunable suspension indicate growing demand for customizable fit and ride dynamics that accommodate diverse rider anatomies and mixed-terrain usage.

Where This Applies

Urban Mobility
Compact high-performance folding bikes could transform commuter ecosystems by offering portable vehicles that perform reliably across variable city surfaces and storage-constrained environments.
Adventure Cycling Gear
Light gravel-capable folding designs point to a market for modular accessories and ruggedized components that extend recreational cycling into mixed-surface exploration.
Component Manufacturing
Demand for reinforced dropouts, dynamic suspension modules, and precision locking mechanisms may drive suppliers toward novel fabrication methods and integrated subsystem design.
