'La Madeleine' Was Featured at the Festival Des Architectures Vives

Montpellier’s summer Festival des Architectures Vives is an annual event which encourages artists to visualize the relationship between art and architecture within the backdrop of historic urban environments.

This year, a large LEGO-inspired structure invited adults to release their inner child, through a cubic structure called 'La Madeleine.' This unique installation was reflective of the year's theme of emotion, and was made using over 2,500 colorful bricks. Complete with an open-air skylight, this imaginative hut invited guests to reconfigure the interior, as some of the blocks were removable. The team behind the design claimed the structure was inspired by the nostalgia of childhood memories, a concept which was echoed through the vibrant walls of the structure.
