The Echo Villa by Peny Hsieh Interiors is a renovated private residence in Taipei, Taiwan that spans roughly 990 m² and was completed in January 2025. Nestled into a mid-mountainside site, the design translates the undulating terrain into continuous curves, flowing through window frames, partitions, furniture, and even ceiling transitions. This seamless spatial language reflects the natural rhythms of nearby hills, creating an interior that echoes the surrounding landscape without mimicking it.
Material choices reinforce the connection to nature: mineral-toned plaster walls add depth, natural teak flooring brings warmth, and soft textiles and concrete finishes evoke tactile richness. The architecture also integrates lighting carefully—natural light filters through sculptural volumes by day, while indirect fixtures accentuate textures after dark. Curved, built-in elements and curated artworks complete a serene, cohesive home rooted in both form and atmosphere.
