The Sadowski House near Warsaw showcases a modern forest retreat with an indoor pool, designed by BBGK Architekci as a deeply personal residence for well-traveled homeowners. A sweeping tent-like roof defines the single-story home, while an inner atrium with a retractable glass ceiling brings the forest directly into the center of the layout. Expansive sliding walls dissolve boundaries between inside and outside, turning the surrounding woodland into a living backdrop for daily life. The design reflects the owners’ journeys and personal artifacts, creating a narrative woven into the home’s architecture.
At the heart of the retreat lies a swimming pool framed by low-set windows cut into a stone wall, keeping sightlines open to the atrium garden and beyond to the trees. Natural materials such as stone, terracotta, and wood enhance warmth and timelessness, while exotic greenery and sculptural layouts emphasize the balance between sanctuary and exploration.
