The AVber House in the Slovenian Alps is a residential project by OFIS Arhitekti that adapts its form to a steeply sloping site while framing views across the surrounding mountain landscape. The design deploys a continuous concrete platform that anchors the house into the terrain and supports a linear arrangement of living spaces. Above the platform, a timber-clad volume stretches parallel to the site’s contour, articulating private and communal areas through shifts in height and fenestration. Large glazed openings open the interior toward alpine vistas while regulating light and sightlines throughout the day.
The structural strategy uses reinforced concrete for the lower level to provide thermal mass and stability on the incline, while the upper volume’s timber construction reduces weight and supports a warmer interior atmosphere. Interior layouts are organised to access outdoor terraces and framed views, with circulation oriented along the site’s natural gradient rather than orthogonal axes.
