Casa Gallareta is a boutique hotel complex, nestled within an ancient Arrayanes forest. Envisioned by OJA — which is also known as Organic & Joyful Architecture — this project represents a harmonious fusion of sustainable design and immersive nature experiences.
Casa Gallareta is comprised of several compact yet thoughtfully designed cabins that blend seamlessly into their pristine surroundings through innovative material choices and sensitive site placement. The architects' deep connection to the region, one having grown up in Patagonia, informs every aspect of the project — from the preservation of existing trees to the strategic use of local materials like Guatambú wood for interiors and charred eucalyptus cladding using the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique for exteriors. Each cabin features an open-plan layout with half-level transitions and expansive glazing that dissolves boundaries between interior spaces and the surrounding forest.
