75 Perfected Pavilions

From Perforated Cell-Like Airports to Cavernous Ice Rink Pavilions:

Architects from all over the world have experimented and pushed the boundaries when designing pavilions. One of the latest for China features a wave-like structure, which encourages incorporating natural elements into cities and having these two opposing forces work more as one.

Other incredible pavilions include the Mumbai Airport, which was inspired by peacock feathers and traditional Indian art. The look of the roof is perforated and cell-like, and the interior holds up to 40 million people a year who are passing through. Another sustainable structure in Germany is made from 90% recyclable material, mostly bioplastic.

These pavilions demonstrate the extent architects will go to think into the future and re-design traditional structures. They are quite literally building and shaping the future and look of certain cities around the world.
