Sukchulmok and BRBB Architects Unveil Pojeon House That Embraces the Field

— September 2, 2025 — Art & Design
Sukchulmok and BRBB Architects complete Pojeon House embracing its central garden, a 128-square-metre residence in Pocheon-si, South Korea. Designed as a series of overlapping volumes, the home wraps around a vegetable plot that anchors daily life. The configuration provides both privacy and openness, with courtyards and layered walls framing views of the surrounding hillside while drawing light and air into the interior.

Constructed from concrete, brick, and timber, the house combines solidity with warmth. Standardized formwork creates rhythm across the façades, while extensive glazing and wood-lined interiors add comfort and brightness. The structure extends outward like protective arms around the garden, integrating agriculture into the architecture. Pojeon House illustrates how modern residential design can remain deeply rooted in context, merging contemporary form with the traditions of cultivation and connection to land.
