BGLA Designs the La Pêche New City Hall

— October 1, 2025 — Eco
BGLA recently completed the design of the La Pêche New City Hall, a municipal building distinguished by its advanced environmental and architectural design.

The La Pêche New City Hall is a two-story structure constructed predominantly from wood. It utilizes materials such as cross-laminated timber and glulam, and is designed to meet the stringent international Passivhaus standard for energy efficiency. Key features contributing to its performance include exceptional insulation, a highly airtight building envelope, and a strategically designed sunshade system that manages solar heat gain. The architectural design incorporates a complex, self-supporting wooden roof that eliminates the need for interior columns. This, in turn, creates an open, flexible floor plan while referencing local historical structures.

The project has received recognition from industry organizations for its sustainable design approach.
