Maxim Kashin Architects' Yellow Pavilion presents a bold architectural experiment that reimagines suburban leisure space through the lens of Russian avant-garde cosmism. Situated on a constrained corner plot adjacent to an existing residence, the wedge-shaped structure overcomes spatial limitations through its innovative use of welded metal construction. It employs bent metal sheets for both structural and aesthetic elements, all unified by a vibrant monochromatic yellow palette.
The Yellow Pavilion's chromatic intensity serves as the project's conceptual core. The space is transformed into what the architects describe as a "private observatory" where visitors engage in celestial contemplation beneath a rounded zenith window. The interior's fluid, curvilinear forms create a seamless environment where walls, floors, and custom metal furniture blend into a continuous yellow expanse, enhanced by specialized TIKKURILA YKI paint application. This immersive experience extends to carefully curated design elements, including limited-edition ASKO appliances featuring Kashin's suprematist patterns and flexible neon lighting.
