From Fast Food Clothing Lines to ASMR Advertisments:

These 2018 marketing trends range from outlandish publicity stunts to celebrity-studded photo shoots, reminding consumers of all the unique ways one can create a memorable campaign.

This year, fast food brands like McDonald's, Taco Bell and Burger King dominated the public sphere with humorous and insightful commercials and stunts. Memorably, McDonald's flipped its iconic golden arches upside-down to form the shape of a 'w' in celebration of International Women's Day. Meanwhile Burger King tapped into the socially conscious consumer by using its Whopper sandwich to describe topical events like Net Neutrality, the Pink Tax, and informed voting. This year saw an influx in fast food collaborations, with plenty of iconic chains releasing limited-edition clothing lines. Dunkin' poked fun at this with its own faux fast food clothing line, which consisted of hilarious items that featured integrated cup holders.
