Architecture has gone literally underground in the past few years, as builders and designers are finding that building into the earth is sometimes better than building above it. These underground abodes are filled with homes dug into hillsides and refurbished bunkers -- definitely worth a look.

Implications - In my second and third year of college, I lived in a basement apartment.
