The modern micro-home renovation transforms a former wood store and rabbit hutch into a compact two-level retreat in Aldesago, Switzerland. Architect Enrico Sassi preserved the original stone walls, reinforced the structure, added a roof and an extra window, and infused the tiny house with space-saving furnishings and renewed life in just 14 square meters. The project retains its rustic charm while offering the functionality and comfort of a thoughtfully planned modern home.
The lower level presents a multifunctional zone with a fold-down bed, hidden drawers, and improved light from new glazing and a skylight over the stairwell. The upper level features a kitchenette, dining area, built-in desk, and loft storage tucked beneath the sloping roof. Sassi’s design balances historic character with refined practicality, creating a serene micro-home that honors its heritage while feeling tailored for contemporary living.
