The Silver House in Jihlava, Czech Republic, is a private residence designed by Atelier Stepan that explores restraint through form, proportion, and material choice. The house occupies a corner plot and is defined by a compact arrangement of simple volumes unified by silver-toned metal cladding. This exterior treatment gives the building a sculptural presence while allowing it to align with the scale of surrounding homes. Subtle shifts in massing introduce daylight into the interior and create variation across living spaces.
Shared areas, including the living room, dining space, and kitchen, are located on the ground floor and oriented toward a private courtyard that anchors the plan. Bedrooms are positioned on the upper level, offering views across neighboring rooftops and greenery. The interior palette combines white plaster walls, timber flooring, and exposed metal elements to maintain a calm and cohesive atmosphere. Carefully placed openings maximize natural light while reinforcing the project’s clear spatial organization.
