Cabin Devín is a compact off-grid dwelling designed by Slovak studio Ark-Shelter above the Zlatý Roh vineyards near Devín Castle. The project was developed as a fully functional weekend cabin within a footprint of only twenty square meters. The structure sits on an exposed hillside and frames views across the surrounding vineyards toward the Austrian Alps. Two sides of the cabin open through fold-down terraces that reveal sliding glass walls, allowing the main living space to extend directly into the landscape.
The interior organizes functions in a compact linear layout with a living area at the front, followed by a kitchenette and a bathroom with a shower. A custom concrete sink is positioned within a window frame facing the forest. A concealed loft sleeping platform sits above the main room and is accessed by a retractable ladder integrated into cabinetry. The cabin operates off-grid using photovoltaic panels with battery storage and a gas backup system, while water storage and ventilation systems are integrated beneath the raised floor.
