Top 35 Architecture Trends in December

From Spiral Bookstores to Modular Origami Moon Tents:

The December 2021 architecture innovations are creative and inspiring with future-forward designs. When given the opportunity to explore new shapes and unlikely forms, architects push the boundaries of the quotidian design structures. X+Living, a Chinese company known for its innovative architectural designs and interpretations, is a prime example of thinking outside the box.

The company installed a surreal spiral bookstore to celebrate the passage of time and space. The metaphoric installation illustrates how architecture as an art form can evoke deep feelings of contemplation.

In terms of future-forward designs, SAGA, a Danish architecture studio, designed the LUNARK
modular origami-inspired moon tent. Made from a black glossy fiber shell, the tent is designed to withstand conditions on the moon and sports a zero-waste ecosystem. SAGA tested the tent in Greenland for warmth and stability.
