Street Art-Themed Homes

Durack Architects Converted a Warehouse into a Three Bedroom Home

Durack Architects, an Australia-based architectural company, recently converted an old clothing ware into a new three-bedroom home in Sydney, Australia. The love for utilitarian styles brought sparked the couple's interest in the old building. Built with an open layout, the warehouse was not originally conducive to a family home.

The architects on the project evolved the structure's definition to center around a U-shaped mezzanine. Durack Architects maintained the industrial aesthetic with exposed steelwork and timber joints for an industrial aesthetic. The home's communal spaces are wrapped around a protected and elevated courtyard, allowing natural light to flood into the interior spaces. Moreover, the home's facade was painted with a large piece of street art by local artist Alex Lehours.
