Warehouse-Transformed Homes

Fala Atelier Designs the House of Many Faces in Porto

Local design studio Fala Atelier designs the House of Many Faces, which was once a warehouse and office in Porto, Portugal. Now, the transformation turns it into a dynamic residence that blends old and new elements into one structure. The House of Many Faces is defined by its unique clash of surfaces, colors, and geometric shapes. It is nestled on a long and narrow site that rests right between two abandoned industrial spaces that overlooks River Duoro.

The studio explains the design and its structure, noting "Reoccurring pairs of windows, yellow doors, green shutters and surfaces of glass brick correspond to intricate rooms, devise tense compositions and charismatic personas. The project has many faces literally, but also conceptually. and many readings, we hope."
