Immersive Design Tributes

Henrik Vibskov’s Circle Dome Square honors Verner Panton’s Panthella

Verner Panton Panthella serves as the creative spark for Henrik Vibskov’s immersive installation, Circle Dome Square. Presented during Copenhagen’s 3daysofdesign, the structure transforms the lamp’s fluid, curvaceous form into bold hot-rod red fabric panels that appear to burst outward in an “eternal explosion.” Stepping inside reveals a calm, cocoon-like cavity where light, texture, and architecture merge to create a contemplative pause from the surrounding bustle.

Vibskov reimagines negative space through a surreal blend of vintage camera form language and playful textile architecture. The resulting pavilion is both striking and inviting, a sensory environment that channels Panton’s innovative spirit while infusing it with a contemporary edge. By merging designer lighting heritage with artful installation, Circle Dome Square becomes a living homage to one of modern design’s most iconic silhouettes.
