This Mexican Vacation Home Blends Into its Avocado-Studded Surroundings

Architecture firm Francisco Pardo Arquitecto was presented with a fascinating design challenge when asked to design an unabashedly Mexican vacation home situated in an avocado field in the rural landscape of Valle del Bravo a few hours away from Mexico City, so the company decided to take inspiration from the surrounding landscape to design 'Avocado House,' a dwelling that gorgeously fuses in with its surrounding environment.
This particular Mexican vacation home features a concealed design that uses generous sheathings of greenery so that the space isn't even clearly visible from above, and manages to blend in magnificently with the surrounding landscape of avocados and trees. What's more, the use of soil and greenery atop the concrete foundation of the home also serves to provide insulation and natural temperature control.
Making use of ample skylights for natural light and materials such as recycled wood, 'Avocado House' is a fine example of modern architecture taking inspiration from nature and surrounding landscapes.
