Apple Tree-Surrounding Glass Homes

ACDF Architecture Designs a Modern Home Around a Tree

Montreal-based design studio ACDF Architecture design a new contemporary home that is made to surround an apple tree. The house is located in St-Donat, which is a rural community that is by Montreal. It boasts an all-black look in a boreal forest and highlights the apple tree that was present throughout the owner's childhood. The home is made from glass and the tree is in sight from most areas of the home.

One of ACDG's founder Maxime-Alexis Frappier speaks about the angle of the home's design, noting that "The home is designed for connectivity, and glances in every direction provide views across openings to other spaces. That being said, the boxes were designed to respect the need for privacy, and their wall placements are intentional in their offerings of solitude."
