The Tsuranari bookshelf by Border Design Architects is composed of mountain-shaped wooden modules that connect side by side, forming a continuous zigzag profile that sits close to the ground. This layout places all books within equal reach, removing the vertical hierarchy typical of standard shelving.

The foundation of the structure supports two display modes, with books placed spine-out in V-shaped channels and face-out along sloped surfaces. It can be accessed from all sides, allowing multiple users to browse simultaneously from different angles. Built from solid wood and assembled with bolts, the system is designed for portability, enabling quick setup and breakdown for use across schools, parks, and community spaces.
