The FOKSAL attic apartment, designed by INDOOR, transforms a complex rooftop layout into a luminous, open retreat in central Warsaw. Mirrored skylights in the entrance hall expand the view toward the sky, while a delicate perforated steel staircase allows sunlight to cascade downward, creating a focal point that combines lightness with sculptural presence .
Faced with angled ceilings, varied window placements, and spatial challenges, the design team embraced contrast and clarity. The living areas are anchored with stone, wood, and ceramic finishes, while softer furniture and textured fabrics soften angular corners. Bold furnishings inject energy in the communal zones, while the bedroom employs warm linens and walnut hues for a restful feel. At 140 square metres, the attic cleverly balances form and function—turning architectural complexity into a bright, modern sanctuary.
