Public Relaxation Structures

'KLAR' Has Created a Cost-Effective Multipurpose Public Structure

'KLAR' is an architecture firm dedicated to urban innovation, and it has innovated on outdoor parks with a new public relaxation structure. KLAR was commissioned by the Moravian-Silesian Region in the Czech Republic to make public spaces to be more attractive to visitors. The result is the 'Yogapoints,' a cost-effective, easy-to-produce structure that allows for public activities such as yoga to be performed easily while being protected from the elements.

The Yogapoints has a minimalist look being comprised of a base, a roof, and four pillars. The roof is constructed in a grid-like formation of slats and steel topped with transparent roofing material to ensure protection from the elements. The remainder of the structure is primarily lightweight wood. The concept designers sought to make the structure look natural, as though it is in harmony and belongs with the nature it is built around.
