20 Latticed Structures

From Woven Timber Museums to Bamboo Canopies:

Using latticed structures when designing a building is one way to provide an added sense of texture to a facade. Instead of sticking to the same material all the way through, this can help add that extra bit of pizzazz to certain pieces of architecture.

One example of this is a museum being constructed in Aspen. The square structure has two sides made from regular material, and the other two sides made with a timber latticed design. Throwing in the latticed wood really adds to the building's originality. Latticed material is also good for canopies, which allow the elements to get through, but can help add some decor to a backyard seating area.

When it comes to architecture, latticed structures are great additions to traditional buildings, and can even be incorporated into modern ones for that extra layer of texture.
