Millo restaurant in Bucharest, designed by AE02 in collaboration with Anda Zota, reinvents urban dining through a layered architectural gesture. A sculptural concrete canopy emerges as the primary statement, shading outdoor seating while extending into the interior as a spatial armature. The gesture not only protects but guides movement, framing views and circulation.
Inside, soft daylight filters through narrow glass slits set within the canopy’s folds, casting dynamic patterns across floors and walls. A palette of raw concrete, pale plaster, and toned oak allows the structural form to assert presence without distraction. Furnishings follow the curvature of the canopy, while custom lighting elements echo the architecture’s fluid geometry. The result is a restaurant that feels both anchored and expansive, with structure as atmosphere. Millo presents a vision of dining where architecture and gastronomy merge into a cohesive experience.
