The 9.1 Cedar House is a forest home by Omer Arbel in British Columbia, also referred to as Bridge House due to its structural configuration. The project spans a steep, wooded site using a timber framework that bridges between elevated ground conditions rather than resting fully on grade. Exposed glulam beams and columns form a continuous structural system that defines both the exterior massing and interior spaces. The house is positioned to minimize disturbance to the landscape while maintaining views through the surrounding trees.

Interior spaces are organized along the timber structure, with living areas arranged to take advantage of daylight and forest views through large glazed openings. Circulation follows the linear geometry of the structure, reinforcing the relationship between movement and structure. Timber is used throughout the interior for floors, walls, ceilings, and built-in elements, creating material continuity. Exterior finishes combine wood and metal to address weather exposure.
