LIN architecture explores Ritual, Memory, River, and Time

— October 5, 2025 — Art & Design
LIN architecture has installed a series of ten sculptural objects, which it describes as 'caskets,' along a riverbank and within a wooded area in Anhui, China. Constructed from reclaimed wood that has been weathered to a dark hue, the structures vary in height and geometric form.

When witnessing the installation, one may recognize specific shapes such as cubes, crosses, triangles, and diamonds. Each piece features a subtle carving on its surface, derived from the vein patterns of local tree leaves. The installation is designed to be interactive as it invites visitors to engage in simple, contemplative rituals — from placing a smooth stone inside a casket to dripping water onto its surface, thereby becoming participants in the creation of fleeting, personal memories tied to the natural setting.
