Implications - Fashion sometimes requires discomfort, but designers are taking “coutorture” even further by creating items that, though very avant-garde, can be physically agonizing. Much like the acceptance of corsets and other painful fashions of the old world, today’s wrathful designs are being snatched up by couture-obsessed consumers, thereby encouraging the existence of a market group of fashion-loving martyrs.
