Implications - Lowbrow culture has crept into the mainstream, by infiltrating itself among higher status fashions and pop culture. Typically, trends for the “uncultured,” like mullets and plaid, were exclusively for the downmarket, but lowbrowism has now taken over even the most prestigious sectors. Simply put, the lowbrow is this year’s hipster.
