While it may seem silly, consumers heavily relied on celebrities to get them through one of the most challenging years in recent history. Between entertaining forms of escapism to using their platforms for social good, this list is filled with the innovative ways celebrities connected with the world, even in the midst of a pandemic.
Political and social advocacy was huge this year, and as a result, artists Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce both introduced their own grants dedicated to helping people of color succeed in both business and education. Meanwhile, celebrities were leveraged to use their influence for the greater good. A perfect example of this is the hilarious Paul Rudd-starring pro-mask PSA.
