At the heart of the top 2019 new venture trends is sustainability, with many brands and retailers introducing pledges, projects, product and packaging designs that support waste reduction and environmental initiatives. While some are introducing solutions that minimize the use of plastic, others are demonstrating the possibility of a plastic-free future with concepts like zero waste grocery stores.
Other new venture innovations are centered on offering unique hybrid experiences, especially within the retail space. This is exemplified by pizza parlors that double as cannabis shops, as well as workspaces that function as cafes and shops. Established brands are also launching city-specific concepts like vehicles and shops that are specifically tailored to the needs of the busy urban individual.
