The DL Collection is a highly anticipated fashion-forward furniture range that has been aesthetically and functionally arranged by fashion designer Dion Lee and creative studio DesignByThem. Set to debut during Milan Design Week 2019, the capsule boasts the DL Lounge Chair and the DL Bench.
The silhouettes of the pieces are strongly entailed to merge two industries. Each token in the fashion-forward furniture collection nods to specifics in the creators' works. For example, the aesthetic features of the seating nod to "the sculptural tailoring recognized in Dion Lee's garments and the structural details of DesignByThem's designs." Of course, there were obstacles to be overcome throughout the collaboration. For instance, transferring a "wearable material into a functioning object" proves to be quite difficult but the result is mesmerizingly slick.
