Top 100 Social Good Trends in 2020

From COVID-19 Pivots to Community-Driven Initiatives:

While it's easy to focus on the negative, this list of 2020 social good trends serves as a reminder of the positive news that has come out of this year. This list is compiled of over 100 ideas and inspirations that occurred over the course of 2020, ranging from community-driven initiatives to businesses' impactful COVID-19 responses.

After most of the world went into lockdowns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses used their platform and resources to help. Crocs, for example, offered free shoes to hospital workers, knowing the comfortable clogs have been a long-time essential for long shifts. Meanwhile, H&M partnered with the EU to produce medical supplies like hygienic masks.

2020 was also a year for people to come together to help one another, prompting a new host of businesses and services that catered to changing consumer needs. An example, is LifeCrates -- a non-profit that formed to help senior citizens acquire the essentials they need, without having to leave the house. Appealing to people on a universal level, Yale acknowledged the hardships faced this year and offered its course on Happiness for free.
