With spring cleaning on everyone's to-do list at this time of the year, there is never a better occasion to update your living space and these May 2014 design trends will offer the perfect inspiration.

With Milan Design Week 2014 having taken place in April, designers introduced a surplus of new pieces in everything from home furnishings to lighting and storage solutions. The most popular trends to emerge were in designs reflecting minimalist and modular qualities, catering to today's consumer with little space but contemporary taste.
