Samantha Tannehill from Tannehill Interiors is the creative mind behind this West Chelsea apartment located in New York City. It shows how a modern residential design can truly bring forth a global design language in a way that is respectful. It was an important part of the design process to bring attention to the client's travels as the space show off how intentional material curation can create authentic connections between global themes and local design.
The living room is defined by its soft Boucle chairs and textures evoked by the handwoven processes. This is joined by the velvet cushions and linen wallpaper from Dedar. Tannehill explains, “The owners and I clicked right from the start. Interestingly, I live down the hall from them, so we already had a neighborly connection. When they experienced a flood, it opened up the conversation about renovations. They initially had questions about flooring and contractors, and it eventually led to me helping them create a home that truly felt like an extension of their personalities and lifestyle.”
