Virtual reality, vending machines and social media fused with traditional sales experiences are major themes reflected in the top June 2015 Retail trends. Putting an emphasis on unconventional sales tactics, retailers are making the process of coming to a purchasing decision more convenient and entertaining.
Some of the most noteworthy ways traditional retail is being refreshed include Starbucks opening up an express store where visitors won't have to stand in line, making purchases with social currency at the ooVootique and the Audi VR Experience being used in car dealerships.
Although many of these retail innovations deal with the intangible, physical store displays are still proving to be valuable places for marketing and engagement, especially when transformed into spaces that host interactive games and videos.
