From Ballet-Inspired Sneakers to Latex Sock Stilettos

These 2017 footwear trends cover almost every style imaginable, whether its retro jelly-like sandals, or futuristic scuba-inspired sneaker boots.

In addition to the many different footwear models that have been released this year, this grouping of ideas includes a number of products that enable consumers to customize their looks, such as Nike's stencil kit. With a number of different options included, the kit allows users to position the sportswear giant's branding however they like and in a variety of different colors. Another example comes from Tready, which helps dog-lovers to create customized Chuck Taylors that feature the portraits of their furry friends.

Also launched this year were a number of designs that are inspired by Swedish furniture and homeware chain IKEA, which followed Balenciaga's luxury adaptation of the company's bright blue shopping bags. Although some renowned sneaker customizers adapted footwear to directly honor IKEA, brands like Nike did so in a more subtle way, with its 'Internationalist Court Blue' boasting a vivid combination of blue and yellow.
