The Lab was originally started by Jay Villarama, after a visit to the US. In the US, Villarama observed the obsession with customizing and restoring sneakers. Today, The Lab helps consumers clean, restore and customize their sneakers to keep each pair looking good as new. The shop even sells its own brand of cleaning solution called The Lab 'Solesaver,' to help clients keep their kicks looking fresh on the go.

Describing the service as "70 percent art and 30 percent science," Villarama explain that his specialty shop has quickly become the go-to spot to restore sneakers in the Philippines.
