The classic NIKE Air Max 97 has been given a new shiny skin after Nike and Swarovski teamed up to design a shimmering iteration of the popular sneaker. The 20-year-old shoe can be seen sparkling, after being decorated with over 55,000 tiny Swarovski crystals.
Comprised of densely clustered crystals, the shoe offers a unique visual as it appears both gritty and elegant. The company initially aimed to explore color and shine in new and innovative ways, and after 12 years of research, perfected the look of the crystallized shoe. Now fused with the precious materail, the Air Max 97's are available in white and black.
The unique effect aims to inspire consumers to consider what the embodiment of light meeting speed would look like.
