Brands have been upping their game when it comes to incentivized innovations.

Consumer loyalty is currently experiencing a major shift. Discounts are no longer the one and only way for brands to reach their target market. Consumers are much more inclined to participate in loyalty programs that offer social incentives. For example, they are interested in brands that incentivize behaviors and actions, such as eating healthier, working out, being environmentally responsible or even social media sharing.

While saving money is still important to consumers, it's no longer necessarily the biggest draw. Retailers looking to strengthen their ties with consumers should look into rewarding their activities, rather than relying on more of the same discounts and promotions.
